Now Hiring: Horticulture Extension Agent

We are hiring a Horticulture Agent to lead educational programming related to commercial landscapes, home lawn care, and ornamentals here in Johnson County. This agent will also manage the Johnson County Extension Master Gardeners, a thriving program made up of 492 volunteers who maintain nine community demonstration gardens. Lawn and Garden

Horticulture is the science and art of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers or ornamental plants.

In Johnson County, maintaining attractive home and commercial landscapes not only increases property values but promotes an improved quality of life that makes our community a great place to live.

Whether you have a question about lawns, vegetables, flowers, or landscape maintenance, Extension information is created for use by everyone, including homeowners, lawn services and nurseries.

Dennis Patton is responsible for ornamentals, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf,  horticultural environmental issues. He oversees the Extension Master Gardener program.

Anthony Reardon is responsible for Fruit/Vegetables, Small Urban Farms.

Join K-State Research and Extension Horticulture Agents from across the state as they discuss timely topics in horticulture. Free and open to all from Noon to 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. View past recordings as well. Pre-registration is required to participate in the on-line sessions.
