Grant Development and Management Professional Course

Are you looking to take your grant writing skills to the next level? Do you have questions on where to even start when it comes to grant writing? Have you been curious as to how a grant may help fund your passion project or favorite non-profit? Dr. Elaine Johannes, Professor in Community Health and Extension Specialist is offering an eight-week course titled Grant Development and Management for Professionals in early 2022 which will address these types of questions! The course will be offered as an online asynchronous course for the “professional learner”.  Topics include identifying funding sources, generating fundable ideas, assessing needs, project planning, budget design, evaluation and project management. 

Objectives for the course include:

  • Establish Grant development basics.
  • Identify sources of funding information.
  • Examine the essential components of a proposal.
  • Increase comfort with grant proposal writing.
  • Explore best practices for program management.

Class participants will have the opportunity to interact with other students who are taking the course for credit. The overall goal is to complete a fundable proposal.
