Tom Good

Horticulture Assistant

Areas of Specialization:

  • Ornamental Horticulture

Personal History/Background

Tom grew up in rural southeast Kansas (Fort Scott) where he was active in 4-H and helped with the raising of cattle and horses on the family farm. As a youth he also enjoyed helping his mother with the large vegetable, herb and perennial flower gardens. This involvement no doubt lead to his eventual degree in horticulture from K-State. Upon graduation he worked at Johnson’s Garden Centers in Wichita for 9 years where he did residential landscape design for retail customers. Tom’s second career challenge brought him to Kansas City, to work for a large commercial lawn and landscape company doing sales, consulting, and designing for about 6 years. His next venture lead him to start a landscape design business which he is still involved in today helping his existing clients.
