Johnson County

Natural Resources

Natural Resources, also known as Environment, is defined as the circumstances, objects or conditions by which one is surrounded.

Here in Johnson County, two agents provide programming content that pertains to our environment.

Rick Miller is the Agriculture and Natural Resources agent, and is responsible for small acreage management; home insect control (ants, termites, spiders, stored food pests, etc); water quality (pond management, native grasses; and natural resource management including nuisance wildlife (such as deer, chipmunks, moles, and snakes).

The Family and Consumer Sciences agent is responsible for Indoor Air Quality. Johnson County Extension teams with the Johnson County Environmental Department to assist residents with their questions and concerns about indoor air quality. There are two areas that cause particular concern: mold and radon.

No matter what you need, stop by, email or give us a call. We're here to help!
