Instructors: Arn Eccles, wildlife biologist and lake specialist, and Rick Miller, Johnson County Agriculture and Natural Resources agent

Program Description: Learn about some of the best management practices for ponds including a discussion on:

  1. Pond Construction
  2. Aquatic Weed Control: ID, control options, fountains and diffusers
  3. Pond Problems: Leaks, turbid water, trees
  4. Stocking/Fish Management
  5. Nuisance Wildlife: Beaver, muskrats
  6. Livestock Management: Waterers, fences

The class includes a lecture on pond management with plenty of time for questions. It also includes an opportunity to tour a local on-site pond to see plants and structures.
