Personal History/Background

Taylor brings a unique background of agricultural knowledge and urban programming. Originally from Garden Plain, Kansas, Taylor grew up in a rural setting with a strong agricultural presence. While furthering her education in Animal Science at Fort Hays State University, Taylor worked as a program assistant for the Ellis County Extension Office. During this time, Taylor developed a strong connection to the mission of the 4-H program and discovered her passion for creating meaningful educational opportunities for youth.
After completing her education at FHSU, Taylor moved to Johnson County to serve as a Recreation Program Coordinator for Johnson County Parks and Recreation (JCPRD). For two years, she worked as a manager for the Aquatics Department, running programs, trainings, as well as facilitating staff and operations across five facilities while maintaining risk management guidelines. She worked to develop new program curriculum and expand the county’s swim lesson program. Additionally, she assisted with organizing and coordinating volunteers for large-scale competitive aquatic events.
Taylor brings passion and belief in the community "To Make the Best Better”. She is dedicated to being a resource for youth, volunteers, and parents to grow and deepen the impact of the county’s 4-H Program for youth and adults of all ages.
