Johnson County Horse Club

Club Description: The Johnson County 4-H Horse Club is a community-based club with a strong focus on the horse project, welcoming members ages 7 to 18. We offer a wide range of opportunities for youth to learn about horses and participate in activities such as Horse Quiz Bowl, Panorama and judging events.

As a club, we host two 4-H horse shows a year—our largest fundraisers—which help support club activities, year-end awards, and community outreach efforts. Throughout the year, we provide valuable educational experiences, including showmanship and racing clinics, educational trips, and visits to local horse farms.

Community service is an important part of our mission. Members engage in several service projects annually, and older members are encouraged to develop leadership skills by mentoring younger members, leading committees, and serving as club officers.

In addition to horse-related events, our members often explore other 4-H projects such as photography, livestock (sheep, goats, swine, cattle, rabbits, poultry), sewing, crafts, woodworking, and more. We’re happy to help connect members with leaders in any project area they’re interested in.

The Johnson County 4-H Horse Club is proud to foster learning, leadership, and community involvement—and we always welcome new members!
