Personal History/Background
Joan’s 34-year career began as an industrial engineer in the apparel industry and evolved into the Information Systems field working as an application analyst and managing projects at Garmin and Gear For Sports. After retiring she became an Extension Master Food Volunteer to continue learning and sharing her passion for making delicious and nutritious food with others. Serving as the Master Food Volunteer Program Coordinator is the perfect fit where she organizes and supports this amazing group of volunteers.
When she’s not volunteering or coordinating the EMFV program, you’ll find her goofing off with family and friends, camping and hiking, live music and exploring new hobbies, most recently scuba diving and rehabbing an old house with YouTube by her side.
