Personal History/Background:

Jessica grew up in Kansas City, KS and is a graduate of Pittsburg State University. Jessica worked for 21 years at the Mr. & Mrs. FL Schlagle Library at Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, KS where she began as an Education Specialist, then moved up to manager beginning in 2012. Although science and nature education was her passion for over 20 years, she has also developed a huge passion for 4-H thanks to her daughter who has been in 4-H for nine years. Some of her daughter’s favorite 4-H activities are County Council, Ambassadors, visual arts, photography, and home environment but her absolute favorite is shooting sports.  The Lawrenz family spends A LOT of time traveling to county tournaments, state matches and even nationals in archery, air pistol, small bore pistol and muzzleloader. Jessica is excited to be part of the Extension family and to be making an impact on the community through 4-H!
