Pioneer 4-H Club
Club Description: Pioneer 4-H is a traditional club that was established over 60 years ago. The majority of our members are from De Soto, Olathe, west Shawnee and west Lenexa. The club currently meets the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at The Barn at Kill Creek.
Pioneer is a community service club. We consider our club as being well rounded. Our 4-H'ers' interests include livestock, foods and nutrition, clothing construction/fashion, environmental science, shooting sports, entomology, geology and many more. The club has exceptional adult volunteers to help lead our youth in the above projects. Pioneer has a Cloverbuds program for youth younger than 7. The group meets during our monthly meeting and follows a specialized curriculum.
Pioneer's main focus is community service. We collect food items for the food pantry, collect items for needy families during the holiday season, visit the nursing home, ring bells for the Salvation Army and volunteer bi-monthly at the De Soto Food Pantry.
Pioneer welcomes new members! Please contact our community leader if you would like additional information about Pioneer.
